Hula Hālau Entertain Weekly at Lahaina Cannery Mall

Some of Maui’s most talented hālau will continue to perform weekly at Lahaina Cannery Mall throughout June. The free cultural entertainment takes place center stage at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and at 1 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday.
Boursier-Mougenot Exhibit Opens at Schaefer Gallery
The MACC • Schaefer International Gallery • Through July 18
A sound installation by French artist and composer Céleste Boursier-Mougenot is on exhibit. Boursier-Mougenot creates intriguing works that explore the potential of common objects as a means to compose music in a given space. Schaefer International Gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and before Castle Theater shows and during intermissions.
Heart of the Hui Student & Faculty Exhibition
Makawao • Hui No‘eau • Through July 31
Hui No‘eau will present the center’s Heart of the Hui: A Student & Faculty Exhibition celebrating and honoring the importance of art education at the hui with a space that encourages learning, creativity and experimentation.

Henry Kapono to Returns to Wailea Leʻa June 17

Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Henry Kapono will return to to perform at Wailea Leʻa. During the event, guests are invited to indulge in complimentary menu samplings from the center’s restaurants and eateries.

Solo Sessions: Jon Anderson, the ‘Voice of YES,’ on June 19

Singer-songwriter-musician Jon Anderson–“the Voice of YES”–will perform as part of The MACC’s signature “Solo Sessions” series: presenting musicians and their personal stories in an intimate setting.
Saturday, June 20
MAMo on Maui: Wearable Art Show on Saturday
Kahului • The MACC • Yokouchi Pavilion • 7:30 p.m.
Participating designers include Maile Andrade, Koa Johnson, Anna Kahalekulu, Lauwaʻe, Lufi Luteru, Manaola, Marques Marzan, Maile Na‘ehu and Wahine Toa. Tickets are $35 and $45 (for the show only). Premium tickets at $65 include the trunk show and meet-and-greet with the designers at 6 p.m.
Maui Comedy Festival Opens Summer Series with Todd Barry

The Maui Comedy Festival Summer Series will present Todd Barry for one night only. Barry has performed on the Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Comedy Central Presents, Last Call with Carson Daly, Jimmy Kimmel Live, USO Comedy Tour, NBC’S Late Friday and Open Mike with Mike Bullard.

MFF to Hold Encore Screenings for Father’s Day Fundraiser

The 2015 Maui Film Festival will hold an Audience Award winners special encore screenings on Father’s: Visions in the Dark: The Life of Pinky Thompson, Landfill Harmonic, Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet, The Wave I Ride: Page Alms’ Story. The event is a fundraiser for Doorway Into Light, Manaʻo Hana Hou Radio, Maui Surfrider Foundation and Hui O Waʻa Kaulua.
