Francis “Blue” Kikaha Lono, Jr., 76, of Hāna, passed away on June 13, 2015 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born on March 3, 1939 in ʻUlaʻino, Hāna.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at St. Mary’s Church in Hāna, services will begin at 11 a.m., and burial will follow at Honokalani Cemetery.
Francis was the Kahu for Kahanu Gardens until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Laua’e Lono; sons, Arnold Kekaha Lono, Donald Iokewe (Franka) Lono, and Donovan Leoaloha (Lei) Lono; hanai daughter, Ipo (Craig) Castaneda; Godson, Brian (Kim) Hall; sisters, Mildred (Joe) Gorbea, Josephine (Robert) Hall, Ethel (Rick Fisher) Gomez, Carol (Francis) Oliveira, and Alice (James) Kai; brothers, Jerry (Veronica-deceased) Lono; Steven (Rose) Lono, Joseph Lono, Gerard Lono, and John (Dawn) Lono; hanai brother, Ward (Jean) Mardfin; 16 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
Francis was predeceased by his daughters, Marilyn “Ti” Mohala Lono, and Orieth “Sheila” Kehaulani Lono; sisters Maizie (Joe) Manaois, and Helena Lono; and brother, George Lono.
