Keiki Fly for Half Price on Mokulele in July
By Maui Now Staff
In celebration of summer, Mokulele Airlines just announced it is offering a special 50%-off fare for keiki under the age of 12.
The fare is good at all nine airports Mokulele serves across the state. Four-legged, furry keiki of any age will continue to fly free.
“We are a local, family-owned and operated airline,” said Ron Hansen, president and CEO of Mokulele Airlines. “We want to make it affordable for families to share some great times together. I’m proud to have six kids, 11 grandkids, and three dogs as part of my family, and I know how wonderful it is to have everybody in the same place. Summer is the perfect time to do that.”
Mokulele has the newest fleet of aircraft in the state and operates between 120-150 daily flights from Honolulu International and Kalaeloa (Barbers Point) airports on O‘ahu; Kapalua, Kahului, and Hāna airports on Maui; Kona, and Waimea airports on Hawai‘i Island, as well as Ho‘olehua and Kalaupapa airports on Mokoka‘i.
“Teddy Bear my Goldendoodle is Mokulele’s official pet mascot” said Hansen. “It was because of him that we started the pets fly free policy. We do not discriminate against any breed or size of dog as long as the they are well-behaved, and together with their parent meet the weight restriction of 320 pounds. Parents and puppies, or kitties, are welcome to fly in the cabin in seats four or five.”
Mokulele hopes this offer will make it easier for families to get together this summer and create some lasting memories.
