Flyer MBB Workshop Business Plan-Aug-20-2015-finalBy Maui Now Staff

Maui Business Brainstormers will offer a free workshop, “DEMYSTIFY THE MYTHS of Your (non) Existent BUSINESS PLAN,” on Thursday, Aug. 20, at the J.W. Cameron Center.

Craig Swift will offer the 150-minute workshop beginning at 5 p.m.

“A business plan helps business owners and managers think about their business logically,” said MBB organizer Grace Fung.” It opens their minds for areas which their emotion can’t see. Therefore, this workshop is designed for anyone who is thinking about starting or has already started own business.”

In this workshop, Swift will focus on helping attendees see their business plan in a new light, so it can serve as a reliable advisor and supporter for every decision that affects their road to success and their bottom line.

Attendees will also hear why it is important to take time to study and research if they are not sure of the facts, and look at their ideas critically. It takes time now, but may prevent costly, perhaps disastrous, mistakes later.

Swift has over 30 years of experience working with small businesses, including ownership, financing, training and community economic development in Maui County.

He has his MBA from the University of Hawai’i and an undergraduate degree from the University of Washington, and has been a lecturer at UH-Maui College.

Space is limited. Participants are encouraged to bring their own business plan (even in draft stage), a pen, paper and water. Complimentary self-parking is included.
