Agsalog named Maui Director of Finance under Mayor-Elect Arakawa
Danny Agsalog, former Maui County Budget Director and Former Senior Advisor of City & County of Honolulu’s Emergency Services Department & Department of Community Services, was appointed as the County’s Director of Finance.
As Budget Director from 2003-2005, Agsalog served as the chief policy advisor to Arakawa regarding fiscal and budgetary matters. Prior work experience also includes serving as the Micro-Enterprise Program Manager for MEO Business Development Corporation.
Agsalog earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business administration from University of Hawaii West Oahu, and an MBA from Hawaii Pacific University.
Jeremiah Savage, an accredited asset management specialist and regional field training leader with Edward Jones, was appointed to serve the Deputy Director of Finance.
Savage earned his Bachelor’s degree from Pacific Lutheran University, and has worked as the National Foreign Director/financial consultant for EEC International Korea. Savage’s community service includes Rotary International and St. Anthony Trust Fund Finance Advisory Committee.
“Danny’s small business and local government experience combined with Jeremiah’s knowledge and experience in investments and asset management will be valuable for the Finance Department,” said Arakawa.
“I am excited to be appointed by Mayor-elect Alan Arakawa to work on this team. We are at a pivotal place in our economy and it will be vital that we move in the right direction,” said Savage.
