Maui Fair Seeks Entries for Annual Baby of the Year Contest

Maui Fair is seeking entries for the 16th Baby of the Year Contest. Interested parents can register online by Sept. 18, 2015, for an opportunity to win great prizes, and possibly, the Baby of the Year crown.
Contestants born on or between March 26, 2013, and Sept. 26, 2014, are eligible to participate; there is no entry fee. Officials will accept application from the first 120 contestants.
“We are proud to bring the 16th Baby of the Year Contest, which showcases the many families and children of Maui,” said Sherri Grimes, Maui Fair managing director.
The contest takes place on Saturday, Sept.26, on the Main Entertainment Stage.
Keiki will be judged on physical appearance, healthiness and personality, with each category scored on a 50-point scale. The five highest-scoring babies will each be awarded prizes from the Maui Fair and its many sponsors.
The 2015 Baby of the Year will also receive a weekend getaway at the Westin Kā‘anapali Ocean Resort Villas. All contestants will receive a goodie bag from many of our sponsors.

The Maui Fair was first celebrated on Maui in 1916. The family-friendly event features multicultural food, entertainment, an EK Fernandez Joy Zone, plus horticulture, bonsai, livestock, homemaking, photo and art exhibits and competitions.
