Council Member Mike Victorino invites the public to join him in a Wailuku Town Talk Story session on Thursday, Sept. 17 at the ʻĪao Theater from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

The main topic will be the homeless situation, but discussion is not limited to other issues pertaining to Wailuku’s health and well being, including traffic, parking and crime.

According to an event announcement, several businesses in the Wailuku super block have recently become vacant, “creating an inviting place to eat, congregate and sleep for the homeless.”

“There is a concern that while the numbers are not large, the incidents of harassment to the landowners, businesses and residents are creating a negative impact in Wailuku Town,” the event announcement stated.

The public is invited to come and share their thoughts, experiences and ideas with Council Member Victorino, who represents the Wailuku District.

“Wailuku is a special place and we all care about keeping it that way,” the announcement stated.
