Kamehameha Drama Club Presents Austen’s ‘Emma!’

Kamehameha Schools Maui Drama Club will present Emma! A Pop Musical by Eric Price on Friday, Nov. 6 and 13, at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 7 and 14 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Keopuolani Hale on the school’s campus.

Admission is free.

Emma! A Pop Musical, Jane Austen’s classic tale of an aspiring matchmaker who knows what’s best for everyone’s life except her own, is reset in a contemporary coed prep school.

Emma’s one goal is to find the best possible boyfriend for her classmate, Harriet. But the art of knowing who likes who is not as easy as it looks.

This modern retelling features the hit songs of legendary girl groups and iconic female singers such as Whitney Houston, Cyndi Lauper, Katy Perry, The Supremes, Shania Twain, Sara Bareilles, Avril Lavigne, Paula Abdul, The Ronettes and more.
