Mākena Resort Gives Thanks to Maui’s Emergency Responders
The Mākena Beach & Golf Resort make its annual Thanksgiving visit to emergency service personnel stations last week, providing fully prepared gourmet Thanksgiving meals and a personal thanks on behalf of the entire Mākena Resort ʻohana.
For over 11 years the resort has made it a tradition to drop off Thanksgiving meals to firefighters, EMT’s and Maui Police Department dispatch and patrol teams working throughout the Thanksgiving holiday.
On Thursday, Nov. 26, 2015, the Mākena Resort provided Thanksgiving meals to the Kahului Fire Station, Wailuku Fire Station, and the central Maui Police Department dispatch and patrol teams.
The meals included the resort’s signature sage and thyme brined roasted whole tom turkey, Portuguese sausage and coconut bread pudding with giblet gravy, guava honey glazed ham with a warm black cherry sauce, mashed potatoes, clam chowder with assorted freshly baked bread, Kumu Farms certified organic green salads with assorted dressings and mini pumpkin pies.
“It’s an annual tradition that we are proud of, we like to thank all emergency service personnel for keeping us all safe this Thanksgiving holiday,” said Declan McCarthy, general manager of the Mākena Beach & Golf Resort.
