Due to constant rain delays, the completion of Haʻikū culvert and embankment repairs project along Haʻikū Road has been pushed back to October 2016, county officials announced.

This means that motorists in the area should be aware that Haʻikū Road near the construction zone will be closed until then.

An alternate route around the construction zone can be accessed by using Kauhikoa Road.

Contractors said the wet weather has interfered with the pouring of concrete for the project.

Officials with the Department of Public Works apologized in advance for the delay.
