The Maui Department of Water Supply begins work Monday on lateral waterlines on Makaʻala Drive in Waiehu Terrace.  The work starts on Monday, Sept. 12, and continues through the end of the year, concluding on Dec. 31, 2016.

Work hours are between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., with the project involving the replacement of lateral lines at various locations along Makaʻala Drive.

The focus of this project is to repair leaking waterlines as identified by DWS’s Leak Detection Program, initiated by the Department’s CIP Conservation Program.

DWS is advising consumers that there may be interruptions in water service while work is being performed; however, interruptions should not exceed more than a few hours. DWS is also advising motorists to use caution when driving in the area as traffic will be impacted. The contractor will deliver door-to-door notices to residents in the area that will be affected.

The public is invited to call the department’s 24-hour service line at (808) 270-7633 if a water-related problem occurs or if there are any questions.
