Teen Humanitarians Compete for $10K Montage Scholarship

Montage Hotels & Resorts announced its fourth annual Montage Memory Makers contest – a program designed to empower young humanitarians with scholarships to fulfill their higher education goals.

The luxury hotel company is in search of community leaders between the ages of 13-17 years old who are making the world a better place.

The five winners will be judged on the following criteria: 1) Ongoing community service or volunteering efforts, 2) Achievements that have made a meaningful impact in their community or beyond, and 3) How their community service inspires others.

Individuals who meet the contest requirements are encouraged to enter the contest by applying online.  Applicants will be asked to upload a 300-word essay and additional material detailing how they inspire and provide service to their communities. Entries will be accepted from now through Nov. 14, 2016. Winners will be formally announced Jan. 5, 2017.

Ten finalists will be selected by Montage Hotels & Resorts after Nov. 14, and the final five winners will be chosen by a panel of guest judges, including:

  • Alan Fuerstman, Founder & CEO of Montage Hotels & Resorts
  • Brad Meltzer, #1 New York Times bestselling author & Montage Hotels & Resorts Literary Ambassador
  • Kelly Sawyer Patricof & Norah Weinstein, Co-Presidents, Baby2Baby
  • Sid Espinosa, Director of Philanthropy + Civic Engagement, Microsoft

Each winner will be awarded $10,000 to their accredited college or university. Additionally, winners will receive a two-night stay at one Montage property in the Continental US, including Montage Beverly Hills, Montage Laguna Beach, Montage Deer Valley and Montage Palmetto Bluff. Lastly, all winners will be featured in the spring 2017 issue of Montage Magazine.
