Surveillance Images Released in Pukalani Theft Investigation

The Maui Police Department and Crime Stoppers have released surveillance footage of a male individual, saying they are looking for the public’s assistance in obtaining further information relating to a second degree theft investigation.

According to police reports, an unknown male entered the American Savings Bank in Pukalani at around 1:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016, and allegedly removed an envelope containing $1,400 in cash belonging to another customer from the customer service counter within the bank.

Authorities say surveillance video shows the male removing the envelope and then conducting a teller transaction within the bank prior to leaving the area.

If anyone can identify the male individual in the surveillance photos, they are asked to contact Detective Dennis Clifton at (808) 244-6425 or via email at dennis.clifton@mpd.net. If it is after hours, the public can call central dispatch at (808) 244-6400 and refer to report number 16-034985.

To report anonymously and be eligible for a reward call Maui Crime Stoppers at (808) 242-6966.  Maui Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards of up to $1,000 for information reported anonymously that  leads to the arrest and indictment of felony crimes.
