At the direction of the President of the United States, the US flag and the Hawai‘i state flag will be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and upon all state offices and agencies as well as the Hawai‘i National Guard in the State of Hawai‘i immediately, until sunset on Sept. 30, 2016.

This action is a mark of respect for the memory of former President and Prime Minister of Israel Shimon Peres.

The former president shared a Nobel Peace Prize for forging a peace deal between Israelis and Palestinians. He served as Israel’s president from 2007 to 2014.
