Holoholo Kaʻa: A Fundraiser for Pūnana Leo O Maui
Pūnana Leo O Maui will host a Holoholo Ka‘a 2016 fundraiser, a day of fun and interaction for the whole community.
The public is invited to the hands-on event to climb aboard, pretend to drive and take photos inside emergency vehicles, heavy machinery, construction rigs, farm equipment and cool cars.
It’s an opportunity for kids and kids at heart to get up close and inside these machines and trucks to checkout and learn about their function and purpose first hand.
Local business and agencies, public utilities, county and state departments in turn have the opportunity to showcase their vehicles while sharing their knowledge of duties and operating skills.
The event will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016 at the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College Parking Lot (swap meet area). A $1 donation will be accepted for Pūnana Leo O Maui, a Hawaiian Immersion program for island youth.
Big trucks and special vehicles showcased include: a fire engine, cement truck, police car, ambulance, rubbish truck, tow truck and more.
The event is co-sponsored by the UHMC Early Childhood Education program.
