A High Surf Advisory is posted from 6 a.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Saturday for north facing shores of Maui and Molokai.

A Small Craft Advisory is posted for our usual windiest Maui County waters through 6 p.m. Sunday.

North: Wave heights are overhead and building to well overhead in the afternoon. The best breaks could get up to double to triple overhead on the sets with 18 to 20 foot faces for deepwater breaks.

West: Surf is basically flat today. Northwest Maui will be a bit bigger but not as big as direct exposures.

South: Surf is basically flat today.

screen-shot-2016-11-17-at-6-43-22-pmOur current north-northwest swell is building into Friday morning and expected peak late Friday before fading out over the weekend. A north-northeast is forecast for the 20th to the 22nd.

Nothing significant is expected out of the SPAC for the foreseeable future.

Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
