An all-day fundraiser on Sunday, Nov. 27 to help three-and-a-half-year-old Trucker Dukes will now include a gelato-eating contest. Trucker, the youngest of four children, was diagnosed with neuroblastoma and has been fighting cancer since 2014.

The contest runs between 3 and 5 p.m. at Ono Gelato Kīhei in Azeka Makai. The café is donating 10% of the day’s sales to the Trucker Dukes Cancer Fund. Plus, 100% of the sales from all Fireman’s Hat Sundaes will go directly to the Trucker Dukes Cancer Fund on Sunday, when Ono Gelato Kīhei is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The contest goal is to eat as much gelato or sorbet as you can within a 10-minute time span.  Participating contestants receive a $5 Ono Gelato gift card for future use, courtesy of Century 21 All Islands Fine Homes & Estates. There is a limit of 15 contestants in each division. Flavor choices include French Vanilla Gelato, Triple Chocolate Gelato, Strawberry Sorbetto and Pineapple Sorbetto.
