Dexter Noboru Tamura
March 11, 1950 – December 2, 2016

Visitation will be held at Ballard Family Mortuary in Kahului on Friday, Dec. 16, 2016 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at Ballard Family Mortuary on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Dexter is predeceased by his parents, Asao and Alice Tamura; hanai mother, Eura (Hannah) Sapir and son, Darren-Lee Tamura. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Tamura; daughters, Deanna (Nui), Lee-Ann (Jeffery); son, Allen (Christy) Apolo; hanai daughter, Kahililani (Kama) Corpus; brothers, Rodney, Keith and Derek Tamura; sisters, Stephanie McDaniel, Ala Tamura; hānai brothers, Brian, Jeffery and Glenn Gasper; hānai sister, Denise Leopaldo and 25 grandchildren.

Dexter retired from Cutter Nissan Maui as a mechanic. He really loved the ocean, it was his playground. He is loved and will never be forgotten.

Judy Ann Gastilo, 62, of Keaʻau, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016. Judy was born on June 4, 1954 in Hilo, Hawaiʻi.

Judy worked as a Teacher for the Department of Education. Private Service to be held. Celebration of Life to be held after burial at Wailoa State Park, Pavilion #1.

She is survived by her husband George Gastilo of Keaʻau; father Ernest Luiz of Pāpaʻikou; son Joshua (Erin Koliboski) Gastilo of Keaʻau; daughters Trina (Ryan Shikuma) Gastilo of Kea’au and Melisa Boteilho of Hilo; brother Leslie (Jody) Luiz of Kailua-Kona; sisters Gwen (Larry) Ely of Pāpaʻikou and Anne Gonzales of Keaʻau; granddaughter Khloe Chung-Gastilo; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kimiko Sugihara, 103, of Hilo, HI, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016 at Legacy of Hilo Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. Kimiko was born on April 3, 1913, in Hilo, Hawaiʻi. She was a homemaker. Private Services held.

She is survived by her son Melvin (Evelyn) Sugihara; daughters Janet (Ted) Sasamura of Hilo, Hawaiʻi and Patricia (Peter Nakayama) Blake of Hilo, Hawaiʻi; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Ballard Family Mortuary-Hilo.

Richard Javier Dumlao

July 18, 1926 – November 29, 2016

Richard retired from HC&S Co. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years, Dominga Dumlao.

He is survived by his sons, Rudy (Connie) Dumlao, Cristopher (Frances – deceased) Dumlao, Willie (Kathi) Pascual, and Tony (Lynn) Pascual; daughter, Rosita (Ray) Agatol. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Maui Memorial Park.

Consuelo T. Peros, 90, of Kahului, Maui, passed away on Nov. 28, 2016, at her home in Kahului, Maui. She was born on Sept. 26, 1926 in Santo Domingo Ilocos Sur, Philippines.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, at St. Anthony Catholic Church; mass will begin at 11 a.m.; burial will follow, 12:30 p.m., at Maui Memorial Park Cemetery in Wailuku.

Consuelo is pre-deceased by her husband, Carlo Peros. She is also survived by her son – Abraham “Abe” (Lucy) Peros; Daughter – Pearle (Ian) Peros Won: Sister – Elena Caberto –Phillippines; 3 Grandchildren – Tisha Lei Peros, Sean Karl Peros, and Benjamin Won; 3 Great-Grandchildren – Amaya Lei Peros, Preston Karl Peros, and Tiyan Cristobal.

Betty- Lou Leslie
April 28, 1938 – November 25, 2016

Betty-Lou Pualani Deniz Leslie, 78, of Keaukaha, Hawaiʻi, passed away on Nov. 25, 2016 at Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Betty-Lou was born on April 28, 1938, in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi.

She worked as a stenographer for the Hawaiʻi Judiciary Court, retired as a housekeeper for Uncle Billy’s Hotel in Kona/ Hilo and was a homemaker.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, Dec. 16, 2016 at Ballard Family Mortuary- Hilo (570 Kinoʻole St. Hilo, HI 96720). Visitation starts at 8:30 a.m. Services start at 10:30 a.m.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Nanette Lynn “Sweetie” Leslie; She is survived by her son John (Maxine) Leslie of Keaukaha, Hawaiʻi; daughters Karen Pualani Leslie of Kapaʻa, Kauaʻi, Sharon (Alan) “Sexy” Tavares of Keaʻau, Hawaiʻi and Betty-Ann “Suki” (Bobbie) Leslie of Hilo, HI; 22 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Arrangements by Ballard Family Mortuary-Hilo.

Destiny “Kaehu” DeLima

Destiny “Kaehu” DeLima
January 19, 1986 – November 25, 2016

A Memorial Service will be held at Ballard Family Mortuary in Kahului on Monday, Dec. 12, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. with service at 11 a.m.

Kaehu is predeceased by her grandparents, David DeLima Sr and Eleanor L. DeLima, and her father, David DeLima Jr. She is survived by her son, Bishop; mother, Angela DeLima; grandmother, Sharon Hong and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
