Dawn Lynn Saragosa, 44, of Pāhoa, Hawaiʻi, passed away on Jan. 19, 2017 at home. Private services to be held.

Dawn was preceded in death by her father Frank Soares Jr. She is survived by her husband Lloyd Saragosa; mother Eloise Rodrigues of Paauilo, HI; sons Clayton (Megan Winkle- Kawaa) Saragosa of Honomu, HI, Kevin Saragosa of Pahoa, HI and Harley Saragosa of Pahoa, HI; daughter Donalynn (Maxwell Baum) Saragosa of Hilo, HI; brothers Frank “Baba” (Zhonna) Soares III of Pahoa, HI and Jamie (Sabrina Kawai) Soares of Pahoa, HI; sister Kristin (Mario) Valle-Bautista of Pahoa, HI; 3 grandchildren; numerous auntys, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Arrangements by Ballard Family Mortuary-Hilo.

Larry Castro
February 9, 1952 – January 14, 2017

Larry Castro, 64, of Volcano, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017. Larry was a Journeyman through the Roofing Union. Celebration of Life to be held at the Hilo Missionary Church (1044 Komohana Street Hilo, HI 96720) on Friday, Jan. 27, 2017. Services start at 4 p.m.

He is survived by his wife Mabel Castro of Glenwood; sons Larry K. (Nivea) Castro of Oregon and Lawrence K. (Lucy) Castro of Kea’au; brother Roy (Samara) Castro of Glenwood; sisters Linda Antolin of Volcano, Nora (Melvin) Ward of Hawaiian Beaches, Shirley (Larry) Staudinger of Hilo and Doris (Cisco) Maria of Ocean View; numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Ballard Family Mortuary-Hilo.
