Maui Brewing Company Selected for SBA Award

Executives at the Maui Brewing Company based out of Kihei-Maui, were selected by the US Small Business Administration as the Small Business Person of the Year for Hawaiʻi.

Winners from all 50 states will be honored next month when finalists and selection of the National Small Business Person of the Year will be announced.

SBA administrator Linda McMahon said the small business owners define entrepreneurial spirit and best represent the 28 million small businesses that are the backbone and economic engine for today’s economy.

Maui Brewing Company President Garrett Marrero and Vice President Melanie Oxley will both be recognized at the event in Washington, D.C. from April 30 to May 1, 2017.

 

Each year since 1963, the president has issued a proclamation calling for the celebration of National Small Business Week.  National Small Business Week is set as the first week in May, and this year the dates are April 30 to May 6 with national events planned in Washington, D.C., New York City, Indianapolis, Dallas and Fresno, California.
