Four Maui Masters to be Featured at Masters of Retail Dinner
The fifth annual event “Masters of Retail Success” will be held on Wednesday, April 5, at the Kahili Golf Course and will feature success stories of four local Maui entrepreneurs.
The public is invited to the dinner event, which begins at 5 p.m. in the Nahele Banquet Room and will be emcee’d by John Hau’oli Tomoso.
In the past, this event has drawn together entrepreneurs and established businesses from across the community, coming together to celebrate what it takes to succeed on Maui, and to learn from each other’s mistakes as well as achievements. The event also features stories by exemplars from the Maui business community who share their business knowledge and motivation with an audience of small business owners from across Maui County.
At this year’s event, four local business owners will “talk story” about their road to success and the challenges of running a business on Maui. The featured business include Maui Brewing Co. (Garrett Marrero); ‘Ukelele Mele on Maui (Mele Fong); Lost on Lāna‘i (Bradley Bunn); and Hasegawa General Store (Harry Hasegawa). Each are expected to share lessons learned, tips, and advice that would be helpful to anyone in the local business community.
The dinner menu will include garlic herb-roasted prime rib of beef, oven roasted chicken with Ha‘ikū tomato coulis, and sautéed mahi-mahi with citrus beurre blanc as well as an assortment of sides, vegetable and desserts. There is a no-host bar. Dinner is $45 for MBB members and $50 for non-members, with both prices partially subsidized by MBB sponsors.
