Maui Surf Forecast
North: Surf heights are expected to be chest/head high today with the best breaks getting overhead from time to time.
West: Surf is knee/waist/chest high today along most westerly exposures with head high sets by sunset. The best breaks could be slightly overhead late in the day.
South: Surf is knee/waist/chest high today with head high sets by sunset. The best breaks could be slightly overhead late in the day.
A new south-southwest swell is forecast for Thursday through Saturday. The west-northwest could wrap into some southwest exposures as well.
Surf along north and west facing shores remain elevated from the northwest reinforcement through Thursday.
A large west-northwest swell is forecast to begin filling in Friday, peak Friday evening at warning levels before slowly fading over the weekend. This swell is expected to get up to 18 to 20 foot faces or more at deep water breaks like Pe’ahi “Jaws”.
Short period easterly swell could get up to advisory levels along east exposures by the end of the weekend and into early next week.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
