Beverly Lee Tabisola, 77, of Makawao, Maui passed away on April 1, 2017 at her residences under the care of her loving family and Island Hospice. She was born on April 8, 1939 in Pennsylvania.

Beverly retired as a Book keeper for the Federal Government of the U.S. Army and later worked part time at Rey Cel Travel Agency.

Visitations will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Ballard Family Mortuary Kahului from 9 to 10 a.m.; with service to begin at 10 a.m.; burial to follow at Maui Veterans Cemetery at 1 p.m.

Beverly is survived by her husband, Sixto Tabisola; children, Diana Hunter, David (Linda) Rakentine, Dane Rakentine, Dirk Rakentine; step children, James Tabisola, Felix Tabisola, and Lydia Tabisola; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; brother, Keith Starliper, and wife Kathy along with their 3 children.

Geoffrey Aaron Hunter

Geoffrey Aaron Hunter
February 4, 1988 – March 30, 2017

Born to his joyful life on Feb. 4, 1988, it is with heavy hearts we announce the death of Geoffrey Aaron Hunter of Pukalani on March 30th, 2017. Geoff is the beloved son of Jan and Ross Hunter, and beloved brother of Reid Hunter, Jenna Hunter and her wife Analise Farmer. A pilot Captain employed by American Medical Response, Geoffrey embodied a life well-lived in every way that matters most. Our grief at his loss is immeasurable.

After a childhood in California, one of Geoff’s life dreams came true when he moved from Ojai to Maui with his close-knit family at age fifteen. Geoff’s calm, open-minded, and responsible personality led him to embrace every gift Maui offered him throughout his high school years. After completing aeronautical training in Australia he experienced dropping skydivers and patrolled Australian shores for sharks from the skies. Geoff’s dreams remained as admirably well-balanced as his beautiful life-spirit. He wanted to go as far as possible in his professional life as a pilot without the sacrifice of time with his family and friends. Geoff took the islands in from the sky, the land, the surf and the ocean blue.

His father remembers the exact moment–on a family trip to Hilo when Geoff was a child–when he knew his eldest son was a waterman born and bred. A highly skilled and experienced spear-fisherman and free-diver, Geoff lived as much of his adult life under the ocean’s surface as he did on land or in the skies, sharing these passions with his dad, his brother, and several of his closest friends.

Geoff’s can-do attitude toward life was matched by his old-souled appreciation for family, friendship, community, and the simple pleasures of existence. By nature a cool, life-loving man, Geoff was also an avid surfer, gardener, accomplished cook, artist and enthusiastic adventure traveler. He owned a home and shared great joy with his mom in making his home inviting and unique, the perfect place to entertain as often did. When he wasn’t preparing delicious meals with his sister Jenna and brother Reid, you’d find Geoff helping his dad build houses, fixing up his truck, and enjoying surf trips and epic camping with his best friends, too many to list. He experienced true love. He was a fantastic listener and he helped to make those around him even greater people than already are.

Geoff adored his close-knit family, who will love, treasure, and miss him forever. He lived his dream everyday. A memorial celebration of Geoff’s life will take place on Sunday, April 9, at 9 a.m. at Ho’okipa Point.

Natividad De Jesus Morales, 76, of Lahaina, Maui, passed away on March 29, 2017, at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born on Dec. 25, 1940, in Durango, Mexico.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday, April 10, 2017, at Norman’s Mortuary; service will begin at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Norman’s Mortuary; service will begin at 10 a.m.; burial will follow, 12:30 p.m., at Valley Isle Memorial Park Cemetery in Ha‘ikū.

Natividad was the owner of Casamaya Mexican Restaurant in Lahaina. He is survived by his wife, Perlita Morales; daughters, Patricia Joanne Morales, Sandra Garcia, Sonia, Maria Basan; sisters, Jenny (Sergio) Gonzales, Licha Monsevais; and grandchildren, Sandy, Eimie, Aaron, and Amanda.

Shigenobu Shibano

Shigenobu Shibano
November 24, 1923 – March 28, 2017

Shigenobu Shibano, 93, of Kahului, passed away on March 28, 2017 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born on Nov. 24, 1923 in Wailuku.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Wailuku Hongwanji Mission.

Shigenobu was a retired manager from the Maui Bowling Center in Wailuku.

He is survived by his son, Clifford Shibano; daughters, Cheryl (Griffith) Yamaguchi, and Dawn Shibano; and 2 grandchildren, Jessica and Joshua Yamaguchi.

Eulogia M. Rumbaua

Eulogia M. Rumbaua
September 14, 1940 – March 21, 2017

Eulogia M. Rumbaua, 76, of Kahului, Maui, passed away on March 21, 2017, at her home, under the care of Hospice Maui. She was born on Sept. 14, 1940, in the Philippines.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017, at Norman’s Mortuary; service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at King’s Cathedral; service will begin at 9:30 a.m.; burial will follow, 11:30 a.m. at Valley Isle Memorial Park Cemetery in Ha‘ikū. Lunch will follow at the King’s Cathedral gymnasium.

Eulogia was predeceased by her husband, Alejandro Rumbaua and parents, Vicente & Cristina Macadangdang. She is survived by her children, Marie Ann Rumbaua, Liberty (Aurelio) Cabato, Joycelyn Rumbaua; siblings, Bonifacia (Telesporo – deceased) Medrano, Aurelio–deceased (Anacleta) Macadangdang, Orfelia (Luis) Sagario, Rodolfo–deceased (Adelaida) Macadangdang, Perlita (Manuel) Refareal, Nyda (Zaldy) Jarra; and grandchildren, Marck Jann Rumbaua, Marvin Jake Rumbaua, Justine Mae Rumbaua, Sheynah Cabato, and Edrick Jay Cabato.
