Shed Destroyed in Fire at Wailuku Country Estates

A small shed structure burned to the ground on Kamaile Street in the Wailuku Country Estates neighborhood on Saturday morning, April 8, 2017.

Firefighters responded to the incident at 11:27 a.m., with a Wailuku engine crew arriving at 11:37 a.m.

Maui Fire Services Chief Edward Taomoto said a small shed structure had completely burned down and caught nearby macadamia nut and banana trees on fire. The fire was brought under control a short time later and called extinguished at 12:05 p.m.

The cause of the fire was undetermined. Fire officials say there were no witnesses available that could explain what had happened.

Damage to the shed was estimated at around $1,000.
