Downed Power Lines Shut Down Molokaʻi Landfill

Downed power lines forced the closure of the Molokaʻi Landfill on Tuesday. The incident took place around 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2017.

County Communications Director Rod Antone said the accident which caused the downed power lines did not involve county staff or contractors.

Maui Electric Company reported that first responders were en route to the report of customers without power at around 12:40 p.m.

By 2:10 p.m., a majority of affected customers had their power restored.
