Maui Electric Rummage Sale, June 17
Maui Electric hosts its annual Rummage Sale benefiting Maui United Way this Saturday, June 17, from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m., at its Kahului auditorium.
The public is also welcome to donate any new or gently used household items for the sale, with drop-off accepted TODAY, Friday, June 16, 2017, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. The public can call (808) 872-3216 to coordinate drop-offs during this time.
All proceeds from Saturday’s sale will benefit Maui United Way, a non-profit organization that raises and invests corporate and individual donations into 33 health and human services partner agencies and 34 programs to benefit the Maui County community.
Last year, Maui Electric and its employees donated more than $72,000 to Maui United Way.
“Mahalo to the Maui Electric ‘ohana for coordinating this annual event that benefits the Maui United Way,” said Maui United Way’s President and Chief Professional Officer Kari Luna Nunokawa. “Maui Electric and its employees are a prime example of what it means to LIVE UNITED.”
In addition to the rummage sale, the company’s employees donate their own funds, organize other fundraisers throughout the year, and coordinate the popular Keiki Tilapia Fishing Tournament that attracts over 600 keiki and their families in Kā‘anapali.
“Our Maui Electric employees firmly believe in taking care of the people in their communities,” said Sharon Suzuki, Maui Electric president. “Supporting Maui United Way does just that as this organization works to provide a thriving, sustainable quality of life by effectively addressing Maui’s most vital needs and inspiring people to give, advocate and volunteer.
