BE PREPARED AT THE 2009 WEST MAUI SAFETY FAIR

More than a dozen local, state and federal agencies will share information on crime prevention, disaster preparedness, public health, personal safety at the 2009 West Maui Safety Fair.
The event will be held a the Lahaina Cannery Mall on Saturday, February 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The interactive, educational event is sponsored by Lahaina Sunrise Rotary Club, Lahaina Cannery Mall, Maui Electric Company and the County of Maui.
Participating organizations include Civil Defense and CERT (emergency preparedness), Maui Police Department (child safety seat inspections), Maui Fire Department (child identification cards), Maui Electric Company (electrical safety, energy conservation, renewable energy), Department of Water Supply (water conservation), U.S. Coast Guard (marine safety), Office on Aging (senior safety), Maui County Hotel & Resort Security Association (visitor safety), Red Cross (emergency safety) and the University of Hawaii, Dept. of Agriculture (food safety).
Event entertainment includes whaling songs and pirate music from the San Diego-based, “Raggle Taggle” music group at noon, followed by a keiki hula show at 1 p.m. presented by Te Tiare Patitifa.

· Maui Toy Works: Yo-Yo/skill toys workshop and demonstration 4 to 5 p.m.
