Andy McKee Live at the MACC, July 14
Andy McKee is among the world’s finest acoustic guitarists and he will be performing live at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center on Friday, July 14, in the McCoy Studio Theater at 7:30 p.m.
With over 150 million YouTube viewers, McKee is considered one of today’s most unique and influential artists. He entertains both the eye and the ear as he transforms the steel string guitar into full orchestra via his use of altered tunings, tapping, partial capos, percussive hits, and a signature two-handed technique.
McKee has been featured as a cover story in both “Acoustic Guitar” magazine in the “U.S. and Acoustic” magazine in the U.K., and is also the figurehead of the unique Guitar Masters tours around the world. “Andy McKee has been launched into the upper stratosphere of the world’s very best acoustic players, and for good reason. His densely melodic and percussive style is mesmerizing to say the least,” a “Guitar World” article stated.
His “Live Book” album included the finest takes from his live shows with the hope to capture and showcase the energy he creates for those he have not been able to attend his shows.
McKee is also the first artist to be signed to CGP Sounds founded by premiere guitar virtuoso Tommy Emmanuel.
Tickets are $38 and $48 (plus applicable fees). To purchase tickets click here or visit the MACC Box Office.
