Mechanical Problems Affect Refuse Pickup in Wailuku

Due to mechanical problems, a residential refuse collection route in Wailuku was not picked up today, Thursday, Aug, 10, 2017.

The Maui Department of Environmental Management, Solid Waste Division, announced that affected areas in Wailuku include the following:

Kaohu, Mill, Mission, Kaniela, Nana, Liholiho, Nīhoa, Mohalu, Leleihoku, Lunalilo and Kanoa Street; Lepoko, Koula, Mokuhala, Waiolani, Kawaikini, Lawai, and ʻĪao Place; Pio, Imi, Naniloa, Halenani, Kū and Nakoa Drive; Central and Kanaloa Avenue; ʻĪao and Mikohu Loop; and Waiale Road; as well as all surrounding streets and roads.

The missed pickups are expected to be made on Friday, Aug. 11, 2017.

Department representatives apologized for the inconvenience and extended their thanks to the community for their understanding and cooperation.
