3rd Annual Ho‘oulu 2017 for Lahaina Immersion Programs

Nā Kula Kaiapuni o Lahaina – including the Hawaiian Language Immersion Schools located at Princess Nāhi‘ena‘ena, Lahaina Intermediate and Lahainaluna – is gearing up for their 3rd Annual Ho‘oulu 2017 to be held on Saturday, Sept. 16, on campus at the Princess Nāhi‘ena‘ena Elementary School from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This yearly event will have performances from Pūnana Leo o Lahaina, Nā Kula Kaiapuni o Lahaina, Lahainaluna Hawaiiana Club, ‘Ohana Feig, Maui Music Mission, Marvin Tevaga and Mark Yamanaka.

Featured fun family activities at the cultural fair include a variety of food booths, local arts and crafts vendors, a silent auction, a keiki zone and a rummage sale.

All proceeds will benefit Kula Kaiapuni in Lahaina.  Tickets are $5 each (children 5 years and under free) and $7 at the door.  Tickets may be purchased at Native Intelligence or Queen Lili‘uokalani Trust.

“At Kula Kaiapuni, cultural seeds of enlightenment are planted everyday through the traditions and customs based on our Hawaiian language,” Kumu Kau‘i Spitalsky explained.
