Patricia Facuri, 76, of Kahului, Maui, passed away on Aug. 30, 2017, at her home, under the care of Islands Hospice, with her loving family by her side. She was born on Nov. 12, 1940, in Honolulu.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at St. Anthony Catholic Church; mass will begin at 11 a.m.; inurnment will follow, 1 p.m., at the Maui Veteran’s Cemetery in Makawao.

Patricia was a retired supervisor at American Savings Bank. She is survived by her loving and caring husband, Mariano “Yano” Facuri; sons, Robert Alan (Chantilly) Cua, Patrick Kevin (Jennifer) Cua, Brian Cua; daughters, Catherine (Garrett) Kawada, Rhonda (William) Barut, Celeste Sportsman; siblings, Apolonio Sindiong, Ricardo Sarmiento, Bernard Palilio, Irene Sarmiento, Linda Macloves; 10 grandchildren; four great grandchildren. She is also survived by niece, Darcy Camera; nephews, Derrick, David & Darren Sarmiento who she helped to raise, and numerous other nieces & nephews.

Mary Ann “Nina” Joy

Mary Ann “Nina” Joy, 68, of Maui passed away Aug. 26, 2017 on Oʻahu. She was born in Pu’unene, Maui.

Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Pukalani on Friday, Sept. 15, 2017 with visitation from 9 a.m.- Moon. Burial will follow at Maui Veteran’s Cemetery in Makawao at 1 p.m.

Nina is survived by her husband, George Joy and four sons.

Isabella Kaawa, 66, of Ewa Beach, O‘ahu, formerly of Wailuku, Maui, passed away on Aug. 23, 2017. She was born on Oct. 24, 1950, on O‘ahu.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, at Norman’s Mortuary; service will begin at 10 a.m.; burial will follow, 2 p.m., at Maui Memorial Park Cemetery, Garden of Meditation, in Wailuku.

Isabella was predeceased by her parents, Reverend Samson K. Kaawa & Reverend Isabella K. Kaawa. She is survived by her siblings, Violet – deceased (Stanley) Mole, Sampson (Annie) Kaawa Sr. – both deceased, Eloise (Bernard “Bernie”) Goshert, Leroy “Napu” – deceased (Barbara “Bobbie”) Kaawa, Miriam (Tom – deceased) Gutowski, George (Barbara-Jean) Kaawa, Moses “Moke” Kaawa – deceased, Mary Kaawa – deceased, Mary Jean (Clinton – deceased) Kepaa, Aaron Kaawa, Ruth (James “Jim”) Harper, Delbert (Julianna “Julie”) Kaawa, Albert P. (Veronica “Ronnie”) Kaawa Sr.; her favorite niece, Nano; and numerous other nieces & nephews.

Ivan Kealawalani Cabrera, 50, of Lahaina, Maui, passed away on Aug. 21, 2017, at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born on May 5, 1967 in Wailuku.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, at Waiola Church, 535 Waine’e St, Lahaina; mass will begin at 11 a.m.; cremation will follow.

Ivan is survived by his wife, Jessie Jaramillo-Cabrera; mother, Irene Laborte; daughters, Sharlou Jaramillo (Ashley Gomes), Jaylou Cabrera (Kahekili “Kili” Kaholokula), Waileka Cabrera; sons, Elijah Cabrera, Jayvan Cabrera; grandchildren, Nolan Jr. Fraser, Wesley Fraser, Jaiyana Kaholokula, Kilsten Kaholokula and Kirenena Kaholokula.

Josephine Kaukali Kailikini Fergerstrom, 90, of Kailua-Kona, was born in Hawaiʻi, and passed away on Aug. 31, 2017. She worked as a waitress at Kona Hilton Resort.

She is survived by sons Calvin (Nalehua) Fergerstrom of Hilo; Carl Fergerstrom of Honolulu; daughter Momi (Ronald) Denis of Kailua-Kona; Hanai sister Cecilia (Jimmie) Suttles of Las Vegas; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 at the Big Game Fishing Club at Honokohau Harbor with visitation at 8 and service at 10 a.m., with burial to follow at Kona Memorial Park.

Wai Lin Weiler
November 16, 1949 – August 27, 2017

Wai Lin (Salina) Weiler, 67, of Kailua-Kona was born in Hong Kong passed away on Aug. 27, 2017. She lived many years in Sydney Australia and San Francisco.

She is survived by spouse Peter; brother Richard Wong and Bing Cheund Wong of Hong Kong; and sister Cindy Chung of Sydney, Australia.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

November 28, 1929 – August 26, 2017

Marcella Maxine Ashenfelter, 94, of Kailua-Kona, was born in Boise, ID, and passed away on Aug. 26, 2017. She worked as a legal secretary.

She is survived by daughters Judy Wood of Kailua-Kona; Laura Scholz of Ocean View; Jerry Simler of Spokane, WA; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Sept. 16, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Kailua-Kona.

Bernadette Nanette Chock, 71 of Kailua-Kona, was born in Honolulu and passed away on Aug. 17, 2017. She worked as a shuttler for Avis/Budget Rental Car Service.

She is survived by spouse Albert; hanai daughters Belinda (Tomas) Rosa of Honolulu; Antoinette (Bruce) Vasconcellos of Hilo; brother Eddie Vasconcellos of Honolulu; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sept. 16, 2017 at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Kailua-Kona with visitation at 9 and mass at 11 a.m.
