More than 100 student athletes helped to clean Maui’s sporting facilities during last week’s Spring Break. The volunteer effort included assistance from Maui Interscholastic League (MIL) coaches and county park staff.

“These kids play hard and they work hard,” said Parks and Recreation Program Planner Jason Lopez. “The County is glad to have their help and we are proud to have them use our facilities.”

The was the second year that MIL participants assisted in the Spring Cleaning during Spring Break.  Athletes worked to clean parking lots, pick up litter, wash bleachers and clean the gym at the War Memorial complex.
