No Tsunami Threat After 5.2 Earthquake at Kilauea Summit

PC : US GEOLOGICAL Survey // Pacific Tsunami Warning Center

There is no tsunami threat to Hawaii after a 5.2. (preliminary magnitude 5.5) earthquake reported at 2:44 a.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018 in the summit region of the Kilauea Volcano, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.

The USGS reports that the earthquake was located:
7 km (4 miles) SW (224 degrees) of Volcano, HI
17 km (11 miles) WSW (245 degrees) of Fern Forest, HI
21 km (13 miles) SW (224 degrees) of Mountain View, HI
39 km (24 miles) SSW (211 degrees) of Hilo, HI
339 km (211 miles) SE (128 degrees) of Honolulu, HI
