Malama Family Recovery Center Presents Magic Under the Stars
Magic Under the Stars, a fundraiser for Malama Family Recovery Center, takes place on Sat., Aug. 11, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. at a private estate in Kula.
Malama Family Recovery Center is Maui’s only women-specific addiction treatment center and the only place on the island where babies and young children can live with their mothers while they get help. They provide caring, holistic substance abuse treatment to women and children so families can live safe, independent and healthy lives.
At Magic Under the Stars, attendees will soak in sweeping views of Maui and the Pacific Ocean and enjoy delectable cuisine and live music by 2017 and 2018 Nā Hōkū Hanohano Finalist Arlie-Avery Asiu. Tom Gaddis, a former professional magician at the private Boca Raton Resort and Club in Florida will dazzle the audience with comedy magic.
“This event will help us combine comprehensive and effective addiction treatment with activities that strengthen mother-child/baby bonding and increase attentive parenting practices in order to improve and support the entire family’s well-being,” said Dr. Lisa Ponichtera, Malama’s clinical director.
