Maui Police: 5 Unclaimed Remains at Forensic Facility

The Maui Police Department reports that its forensic facility currently has five unclaimed remains.

Department officials said they hope to get in touch with family members of the deceased.

The remains include individuals whose date of death ranges from September 2014 to March  2018.

Not all of the identities have been confirmed.

Maui police say if they are not able to locate any next of kin within a reasonable amount of time, the remains will be submitted for disposition and the bodies will remain at the facility until the mortuary gets cremation approval from MedQuest.

Eyes: Cloudy; body found decomposed in pond in Kipahulu

Timothy Tyler, a.k.a John Doe
Date of Death: 3.18.18
Height: 5’8″
Weight: 135 pounds
Eyes: Indeterminate; body found partially decomposed
Hair: Wavy, red-brown hair
Identifying marks and scars: Multiple tattoos—Egyptian symbols and skulls on the right arm; face of a bearded man on the left arm; a demon face on the right side of the chest; grim reaper and the word “Wrath” on the abdomen; a mushroom on the right lower leg; skull with flames on the left lower leg.
