Hospice Maui’s Medical Director Moving to Kaua‘i

Hospice Maui staff and board celebrated Dr. Nancy Long’s last day of service as Medical Director for Hospice Maui on Tuesday, March 5, 2019.

“During her 10 years with Hospice Maui, Dr. Long worked alongside staff to impact thousands of lives with compassionate and professional care,” according to facility directors. Dr. Long accepted a position as Medical Director at Kauaʻi Hospice and starts on April 1, 2019.

Don Zacharias, MD, has been working alongside Dr. Long at Hospice Maui for the past six years, and will lead two community physicians, Arleen Ricalde-Garcia, MD, and Mark Lipetz, MD, who will join the physician team ad interim.

Hospice Maui is currently conducting a nationwide search to find a candidate to assume the medical director position.
