Zippy’s Restaurant’s today announced that it has completed the purchase of vacant land in southwest Las Vegas to build the first Zippy’s Restaurant outside of Hawaiʻi. The site is located at the south east corner of Badura Avenue and Montessouri Street.

The news comes on the heels of an announcement last year that Zippy’s Restaurants was going to open a location on the “Ninth Island.”

According to the announcement, Zippy’s is expected to build a 7,000 square foot restaurant, take-out, and retail bakery, in addition to a 12,000 square foot central kitchen/bakery on the site, which currently is undeveloped.

“The location in southwest Las Vegas is ideal for Zippy’s Restaurants,” said CEO Jason Higa. “This area is burgeoning with residential housing. In addition, the location near the 215 Beltway will provide an efficient transportation hub for our central production facility to support the additional Zippy’s stores to open in other parts of Las Vegas.”

The land was purchased from Laurich Properties, founded by chairman Hank Gordon, and currently led by president Richard Gordon. Richard Gordon said, “Laurich Properties is excited to welcome such an iconic Hawaiʻi brand to Las Vegas and we wish them great success.”

The opening of the Zippy’s Las Vegas Location is expected in the later half of 2020.

Prior to the opening, Zippy’s announce that it will be airlifting over 2,000 pounds of its famous original recipe chili via Hawaiian Air Cargo, to be sold at the Pure Aloha Spring Festival, taking place April 18 to 21, 2019 at the Silverton Casino Hotel.  Chili will be sold while supplies last at a booth near the main stage of the festival.
