SmartAsset, a financial technology company, ranked Maui County the second best place to purchase a home in Hawaiʻi. The company ranked the top five counties based on the average monthly mortgage payment, average monthly rent, and the average home price in each area.

Hawaiʻi County was named the best place to own a home, followed by Maui County, Kalawao County, Kauaʻi County, then Honolulu County.
