Maui County Mayor Michael Victorino answers some of the most-asked questions submitted to his staff.

Q:  The playground at Kēōkea Park is currently fenced-off. Any estimates as to when the play structure will reopen?

A:  Thank you for your question and interest in our county parks.

Our Department of Parks and Recreation notified my staff that surfacing of the playground requires repair work, which has already been awarded to a contractor. A small crew is expected to begin on-site preparation work early next week with resurfacing to be conducted later in the week by a larger crew.
