Maui Lane Closures for June 3-7, 2019

The state Department of Transportation has multiple lane closures planned on various roads across Maui this week, including multiple projects along the Hāna Highway.

Hāna Highway (Routes 36/360):

Motorists traveling on the Hāna Highway this week are advised of planned lane closures in Haʻikū, Keʻanae and Pāʻia.

The state department of transportation will be doing nighttime road repairs on the highway between Valley Isle Memorial Park and Haʻikū Road. This will result in an alternating lane closure on Hāna Highway in both directions on Monday, June 3, through Friday, June 7, from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

There’s also retaining wall work planned between Ulupua Place and Alawai Road in Haʻikū.  This will result in a lane closure on Hāna Highway in the westbound direction on Monday, June 3, through Friday, June 7, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

In Keʻanae, there will be a contraflow in place between Miles 14 and 16 for steel reinforcement installations.  The lane closures will occur in both directions on Monday, June 3, through Friday, June 7, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

And there is a westbound lane closure on the Hāna Highway between Mile markers 9 and 30 from Keʻanae to Nāhiku for guardrail repairs, with work taking place between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.  Work will take place from Tuesday, June 4, through Friday, June 7.

In Pāʻia, there’s also a shoulder closure in the northbound direction near Wailua Road for retaining wall work. This work will run from Monday, June 3, through Friday, June 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Honoapiʻilani Highway (Route 30):

In West Maui, there are two projects planned this week along the Honoapiʻilani Highway.

In Lahaina, there is a lane closure on the Honoapiʻilani Highway in the eastbound direction between Wahikuili Road and Front Street on Wednesday, June 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree guardrail repairs.

In Olowalu, there is a lane shift on the Honoapiʻilani Highway in both directions between Maui Paintball and Luawai Street on Monday, June 3, through Wednesday, June 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming work.

Kūihelani Highway (Route 380):

In Kahului, there will be up to two lanes closed on Kūihelani Highway in both directions (alternating) in the vicinity of Puʻunēnē Avenue on Monday, June 3, through Friday, June 7, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., for utility work.

Kaʻahumanu Avenue: 

In Wailuku, there will be an alternating lane closure on Kaʻahumanu Avenue in both directions between Kainani Street and Maui Lani Parkway on Tuesday, June 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscape maintenance.

Puʻunēnē Avenue: 

In Kahului, there is a lane closure on Puʻunēnē Avenue in both directions between Hoʻokele Street and Puukani Street on Monday, June 3, through Friday, June 7, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., for road improvements.

Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.  All projects are weather permitting.
