By Wendy Osher
The University of Hawai’i Maui College is offering a new four-year bachelor’s degree program in Sustainable Science Management.
An important required course for the program is being offered during an intensive 5-week summer session. Introduction to the Science of Sustainability is a prerequisite course that is available for credit from June 6 to July 9, 2011. The class introduces students to concepts of sustainability, and how they are applied and measured in the world.
Registration and additional information on the course can be found at the University website (maui.hawaii.edu) or by calling (808) 984.3335.
The degree in Sustainable Science Management is the third baccalaureate degree program offered at UHMC. It is also recognized as on of the only degree programs within the university system, with a special focus on renewable energy, energy efficiency and conservation.
Students who earn a degree in Sustainable Management learn how to apply the skills they learn to create sustainable societies, economies, and environments for future generations to enjoy.
