Maui Sewer Rate Increase Effective TODAY

The Department of Environmental Management Wastewater Reclamation Division reminds customers that the sewer user fee will be increased by an average of 6% starting today.
Single family residential customers will see a maximum increase of $4.52 per month. Sewer fees fund the operations, maintenance and replacement of wastewater infrastructure.
Department officials say the rate increase is necessary to keep the utility financially self-supporting. Sewer user fees are structured so each customer class pays its equitable share of operations, maintenance and repair of the wastewater infrastructure.
