Maui Lane Closures: July 27 to Aug. 2

The state Department of Transportation will be conducting a number of road projects on Maui during the period ending Friday, Aug. 2, 2019.

Department officials say lane closure scheduled may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

Hāna Highway (Routes 36/360)

1) Haʻikū (night work)

Lane closure on Hāna Highway (Route 36) in both directions between Kahiapo Place and Holomua Road on Monday night, July 29, through Friday morning, Aug. 2, from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., for road reconstruction work. Alternating traffic control will be in place.

2) Keʻanae

Lane closures on Hāna Highway (Route 360) in both directions at mile marker 15.8 on Monday, July 29, through Friday, Aug. 2, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., for steel reinforcement installations. Traffic will be contraflowed.

3) Keʻanae

Lane closure on Hāna Highway (Route 36) in the eastbound direction in the vicinity of Keʻanae Road intersection on Monday, July 29, through Friday, Aug. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for road improvements.

4) Wailua (24-Hour Work)

Lane closure on Hāna Highway (Route 36) in the northbound direction in the vicinity of Wailua Valley State Wayside Park on Saturday, July 27, through Friday, Aug. 2, over a 24-hour period, for utility installation work.

Honoapiʻilani Highway (Route 30)

1) Lahaina

Lane closure on Honoapiʻilani Highway (Route 30) in both directions between Aholo Road and Lahainaluna Road on Tuesday, July 30, and Wednesday, July 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscape maintenance.

2) Māʻalaea (Night Work)

Lane shift and closure on Honoapiʻilani Highway (Route 30) in the Lahaina-bound direction in the vicinity of mile marker 7.6 on Monday, July 29, through Friday, Aug. 2, for slope stabilization work.

• Lanes will be shifted over a 24-hour period.
• Alternating lane closure from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Kūihelani Highway (Route 380)

1) Kahului

Alternating lane closure on Kūihelani Highway (Route 380) in both directions in the vicinity of Puʻunēnē Avenue on Monday, July 29, through Friday, Aug. 2, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., for road improvements.

Puʻunēnē Avenue

1) Kahului

Alternating lane closure on Puʻunēnē Avenue in both directions between Hoʻokele Street and Puʻukani Street on Monday, July 29, through Friday, Aug. 2, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., for road improvements.

High Street

1) Kahului

Lane closure on High Street in the southbound direction between Malako Street and Kolo Place on Thursday, Aug. 1, Friday, Aug. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming work.

Kāne Street

1) Wailuku

Lane shift on Kane Street in the northbound direction between Kaʻahumanu Avenue and Vevau Street on Monday, July 29, through Friday, Aug. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for storm drain installations.

Kūlanihākoʻi Street

1) Kīhei (24-Hour Work)

Closure of Kūlanihākoʻi Street in both directions between Piʻilani Highway and Mahealani Street, over a twenty-four hour period, 7 days a week, beginning Thursday, Aug. 1, for sewer and water line work. Traffic will be directed to Kaonoulu Street and South Kīhei Road as an alternate route.
