Wailea Picked by AARP Fans as Top Second Honeymoon Destination

The Wailea area of Maui was named among the top 12 list of top locations for a second honeymoon destination, according to a list compiled by AARP.

According to the Pew Research Center, 50% of previously married seniors have remarried, up 34% from 1960.

Wailea was number eight on a list of 12 Amazing Second Honeymoon Destinations, According to AARP Fans.  Wailea was touted for Wailea and Mākena beaches, Te Au Moana and Grand Wailea lūʻau’s and shopping at The Shops at Wailea.

The article showcases romantic destinations suggested by AARP Fans on Facebook “that are perfect for a romantic trip celebrating a second marriage (or vow renewal), enjoying empty-nest status or spending quality time together before becoming grandparents.”

Other destinations on the list included:  1. Geneva, New York; 2. Virginia Beach, Virginia; 3. Mackinac Island, Michigan; 4. Bend, Oregon; 5. Whidbey Island, Washington; 6. Las Vegas, Nevada; 7. Flagstaff, Arizona; 9. Santa Barbara, California; 10. Key West, Florida; 11. Jackson Hole, Wyoming; and 12. Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
