The 33rd Annual event featured professionals and amateurs from around the country who converged on the Kapalua Bay Course and the King Kamehameha Golf Club for three days of festivities and competition.

Highlights included a horse race shootout for all teams and an awards ceremony at Taverna Restaurant’s event lawn.

Team Thad Henry Design Group won the event for the second time in three years. Event organizers say next year’s event will bring back The Plantation Course for “an even bigger celebration of golf and camaraderie.”

The Plantation Course is currently undergoing a refinement project aimed at revitalizing the 28-year-old golf course. Work includes: resurfacing all greens with Tif Eagle Bermuda; renovating every bunker on the golf course; and re-grassing tees, fairways and roughs with state-of-the-art Celebration Bermuda turf. The Kapalua Golf team is planning on a soft opening in November with the intention of the course being in “pristine condition” by Jan. 1, 2020 for The Sentry Tournament of Champions.

The project is being led by the course’s original designers, Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw; Troon’s Design, Development and Agronomy team; as well as long-time Kapalua resident and Golf Channel personality Mark Rolfing.
