Maui Traffic Advisories: Lane Closures Aug. 25-30, 2019
The state Department of Transportation will conduct roadwork at various locations throughout Maui this week, resulting in lane closures and alternating lane closures through Friday, Aug. 30, 2019.
Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.
Kūlanihāko‘i Street
Kīhei (24-Hout Work)
Closure of Kūlanihāko‘i Street in both directions between Piʻilani Highway and Mahealani Street, over a twenty-four hour period, 7 days a week, for the Kihei High School Phase 1 project. Traffic will be directed to Kaonoulu Street and South Kīhei Road as an alternate route.
Honoapiʻilani Highway (Route 30)
Lahaina
Single right lane closures on Honoapiʻilani Highway (Route 30) between Aholo Road and Lahainaluna Road Thursday, August 29 from 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. for maintenance and landscaping.
Olowalu/Māʻalaea (Day and Night Work)
Lane shifts and shoulder work on Honoapiʻilani Highway (Route 30) between the Windmill Farm and Papalaua Beach Park Monday, August 26 through Friday, August 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for warning sign installations.
Waikapū/Māʻalaea
Lane shift on Honoapiʻilani Highway (Route 30) between the Maui Tropical Plantation and the King Kamehameha Golf Course on Wednesday, Aug. 28 through Friday, Aug. 30 from 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. for tree trimming and tree removal, if necessary.
Maui Veterans/Mokulele Highway (Route 311)

Single lane closure on Maui Veterans Highway (Route 360, formerly Mokulele Highway) at Mile Marker 6 Monday, August 26 through Friday, August 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for guardrail repair
Kūihelani Highway (Route 380)
Puʻunēnē (Night Work)
Nightly closure of one lane at a time on Kūiheilani Highway at the Puunene Avenue intersection Monday, August 26 though Thursday, August 29 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (last closure for the week to end at 5 a.m. on Friday, August 30). Single lane closure on Waiehu Beach Road at the Kahekili Highway intersection Monday, August 26 through Friday, August 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for guardrail repairs.
Hāna Highway (Route 36)
Pāʻia/Haʻikū
Alternating single lane closures on Hāna Highway (Route 36) between Hoʻokipa Park and Kaupakalua Road on Monday, August 26 through Friday, August 30 from 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. for resurfacing and guardrail placement.
