A follow up health inspection is set for today at ʻOhana Tacos in West Maui.

The state Department of Health posted a red “closed” placard at the Honokōwai eatery last week following an inspection in which numerous violations were recorded including: an extensive roach infestation, build up of black mold on the chute of the ice machine, unsafe food cooling practices and employee hygiene violations.

The suspended food service permit remains in effect until the restaurant completes required actions, passes follow-up inspections, and receives approval to reopen.
