A large crowd of friends, family, and fans flooded an exit at Kahului Airport to shower the Central East Maui Little League team with lei.

The boys of Central East Maui Little League were welcomed back home by a sea of friends and family.

The Central East Maui Little League team returned to Maui on Monday afternoon after an honorable performance that concluded this weekend with a second place finish in the US and a fourth place overall finish in the series.

The Maui team got to the US final after winning three straight games in the series at Howard J. Lamade Stadium in Williamsport, Pa.  They wound down their world series run with two losses–coming up short to Louisiana 9-5 on Saturday; a to Chofu (Japan) 5-0 on Sunday in the third place consolation game.

River Ridge, Louisiana took home the overall 2019 Little League Baseball World Series Championship title on Saturday afternoon with an 8-0 victory over Curaçao.

The Maui team arrived at 2:42 p.m. today on American Airlines Flight 432.
