Maui Crime Aug. 18-24, 2019: Burglaries, Break-Ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to 14 burglaries, 13 vehicle thefts and 18 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period from Aug. 18 to 24, 2019.

Burglaries were up +16% from the week before when 12 incidents were reported over the seven day period. Vehicle thefts were up +62% from the week before when 8 incidents occurred; and vehicle break-ins were up +6% from the week before when 17 incidents were reported.

Below is a complete list of incidents and the time and locations of when and where they occurred.

14 Burglaries

Kāʻanapali:

  • Monday, Aug. 19, 12:36 p.m.: 2500 block of Kāʻanapali Parkway, Kāʻanapali. Residential, unlawful entry.
  • Monday, Aug. 19, 1:53 p.m.: 200 block of Nohea Kai Drive, Kāʻanapali. Residential, unlawful entry.

Kahului: 

  • Monday, Aug. 19, 9:08 a.m.: 275 Kaʻahumanu Avenue, Kahului. Non-residential, unlawful entry.
  • Tuesday, Aug. 20, 7:14 p.m.: 100 block of Pōlani Street, Kahului. Residential, unlawful entry.

Kīhei:

  • Sunday, Aug. 18, 8:37 p.m.: 100 block of Kai Makani Loop, Kīhei. Residential, unlawful entry.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 21, 6:23 a.m.: 100 block of Akai Street, Kīhei. Residential, unlawful entry.
  • Saturday, Aug. 24, 5:27 a.m.: 100 block of North Kīhei Road, Kīhei. Non-residential, forced entry.
