Morales Leilehua Puha

December 14, 1952 – September 9, 2019

Morales L. Puha, 66, of Wailuku, Maui, passed away on Sept. 9, 2019, under the care of Hospice Maui, with his loving family at his side. He was born on Dec. 14, 1952 in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019, at Ballard Family Mortuary. Service will begin at 6 p.m. Burial services will also be held at Mililani Mortuary on Oʻahu. Please contact the family for information. The family requests no wreaths.

Morales was a retired truck driver at VIP Food Service. He is survived by his wife, Lydia Puha; daughter, Lydiamae Presbitero (Michael); son, Morales Puha Jr.; sister, Christine Gleason; brother, William “Kalani” Puha (deceased); sister, Kathleen Puha; grandson, Royce Masumoto; granddaughter, Whitney Presbitero; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Darryl Ellis

September 4, 1960 – September 7, 2019

Darryl was born on Sept. 4, 1960 and passed away on Sept. 7, 2019 at the age of 59. He is survived by his wife Patricia Means- Ellis; mother Jackie Lee; son Gregory Ellis; stepchildren Kamal Pfeifle, Kareem (Beamer) Pfeifle, Tahira Pfeifle, Tracey and Charles Robinson; grandchildren Oliver Ellis, step grandchildren Brittany Wildermuth, Heaven and Destiny Robinson, Lawaia Pfeifle.

He served in the US Navy for 8 years as a cook and was medically discharged at age 28 with Multiple sclerosis. He served as an usher at Kings Cathedral Church. Services at Kings Cathedral on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 10 a.m. Lunch to follow. At 1 p.m., he will be laid to rest at the Makawao Veteran’s Cemetery.
No flowers please.

Alex Dela Cruz

February 21, 1958 – August 28, 2019

A loving father, brother, son, life companion and friend, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019 in Kīhei. He was born in Laoag City, Philippines to Gregorio Tapaoan Dela Cruz and Juanita Gaselan Gonzalo on Feb. 21, 1958. He worked as a sugar mechanic operator at HC&S from 1978 to 2013.

Although he is no longer here, he will continue to live in the hearts of his one and only daughter, Aleesa Mae Lampitoc Dela Cruz; loving mother, Juanita Dela Cruz, his companion Linda Yadao; siblings, Jussie Dela Cruz Tumaneng, Rodofo Dela Cruz, Lolita Dela Cruz Villanueva, Ricardo Dela Cruz, Erlinda Dela Cruz Parilla, Gregorio Dela Cruz Jr., Julie Dela Cruz Valencia, Eddie Dela Cruz, Darwin Dela Cruz, Sonny Dela Cruz; his grandson, Trevor Alexander Morimoto Jr. and all his friends and family. He was preceeded in death by his father Gregorio Dela Cruz in 2011.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 27, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. with prayer service to being at 7:30 p.m. at Christ the King Church. Services are to continue on Saturday, Sept. 28th, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. with Mass to begin at 11 a.m.

Owl Corcoran

April 28, 1977 – August 24, 2019

Owl Clearmorning Chu Corcoran, 42 of Kea’au, passed away on Aug. 24, 2019. Born on April 28, 1977 in Vancouver, Canada, he was a bartender for Kaleo’s Bar and Grill and a proponent of No Gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, a Magalit BJJ purple belt, who rolled locally at The Brave Fitness and Nu Era.

He is survived by his wife, Heather Tehani Corcoran of Kea’au; son, Ammaron Cade Corcoran of Kea’au; daughter Kezia Kalila Corcoran of Kea’au; mother, Liane Suemei Chu Corcoran of Kea’au; brothers, Kumar (Fabiola) Laughingspring Chu Corcoran of California, and Mathew Ignace Johnson of Canada; grandmother, Vyolet Lum Chu of California; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
